Hi Karen & Nick,
Sorry, but assumed you lived in Swansea.
It is interesting that William Hector was the witness at Margaret Anns wedding. I'm
not sure which William this is. He is certainly a Hilton but have'nt worked out yet
where he fits in. Margaret Anns brother William does not have Hector on his birth cert,
& Williams son Graham Hector was born in 1870 so he would have been too young. The
name Hector has appeared as part of the Hiltons name around this time though don't
know where it originated from- my father was also John Graham Hector Hilton. If you have
any other info about Margaret however small let me know it might point the way.
I have a copy of the marriage cert of William & Margaret who were married in St
Mary's Carlisle 30 May 1846. It says William was a builder & Margaret a milliner.
They are also listed in 2 trade directories as having their own busineses. In the 1861
census they still lived in Carlisle with 6 of their children.
Margaret was born in the parish of Stanwix which is now a suberb of Carlisle. Her parents
were Christopher Bulman & Ann Hilton nee Graham. They had 6 children.
Perhaps you should let me contact you off list as I suspect this info is rather long for
the list
Regard Rita
