Slater's Directory 1858/59 lists Dillwyn's spelter works in Llansamlet - see
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Swansea/slaters-swansea.html
In the 1950s until it closed in the early 1970s there was the Swansea Vale
works - I don't know if it was Dillwyn's by another name.

Hi listers,
My GGGrandfather was listed in the 1881 census as furnaceman in spelter
works.
In this census he was listed as living at Llansamlet Higher. Can SKS
tell
me
as to which works this is likely to have been?
Thanking you in advance,
Steve Saunders
