There are references to the Sailors' Home in several of the standard
histories of Swansea. As it was a lodging house with various facilities
like a library and reading room it is unlikely that there would be records
of people who stayed there. The impression I have is something a bit like a
cross between a YMCA and a Salvation Army Hostel, where most men simply
stayed a few days when their ship was in port in Swansea, and others lived
for more extended periods of time.
The place to look for any records would seem to be West Glamorgan Archives,
though I cant see anything immediately relevant in a quick scan of their
holdings.
A way to look for when it closed would be to review trade directories at
various dates. It was gone by the 1970s.

Do you know for how long this institution existed and where/whether its
archives are held anywhere?
