William Phillips was born in Swansea, Wales in 1820 and he married
Margaret Owen b 1825 also from Swansea. They married in 1848 and then
emigrated to NYC. He was a shoemaker by trade.
William's parents were James b 1775 St. Euny, Redruth, Cornwall, England
and Blanche Maclean b 1781. They were married in 1803 in Madron,
Cornwall. Their children included: James, Mary, Caroline, John and
Charles. They emigrated to Swansea between 1817 and 1820. All the men
were shoemakers.
I have the Phillips back to Thomas Phillips b abt 1690 in Redruth.
