Subject: [Swansea] employment records
Hi there,
being now at the end of my tether regarding my all to frequently name
changing family...
I would like to ask the esteemed members of this board where,if, and how
far back you can get employment records for Swansea (and or Glamorgan as a
whole), and where they are please.
That said, they were self empolyed...hawkers and street traders....so i
guess this would have needed a permit? or would it? are there records of
these things? where?
If anyone should be able to help on a more personal level about various
Romany/traveller families in the swansea area and again, records of such
of any and their whereabouts...I would LOVE to hear from you. Old tales
will do!
I am most interested in musicians, organ grinders, ice cream
vendors/hawkers and chip shop owners or other similar.
Also particularly interested in Italian migrators and or settlers of the
above occupation...and their accomodation etc.
If this grasps anyones interest, or they think that there is a way to find
out about any of this information...HOWEVER SMALL IT MAY BE!!!! I will do
you personal look ups on the 1891 census anywhere in the UK free!
yes....you may have guessed. I am desperate!
Thanks for listening.
heres hoping
C Eldred
