The Glamorgan Family History Society Swansea Branch meets in the Civic
Centre (formerly County Hall, the big off-white building on the seafront
opposite the prison) at 6.30 for 7.00pm on the second Monday of the month.
Usually we are in Committee Room 1 or Committee Room 2, but the person on
the enquiry desk can direct you to the right place.
This evening's planned speaker, Lesley Hulonce, who was due to speak on
Swansea's Oliver Twists, is unable to make it.
As a substitute I will be giving an illustrated talk on 'Using Newspapers in
Family and Local History Research in Wales' which will focus mainly on the
'Cambrian' newspaper published in Swansea from 1804, many items from which
may be found by using the 'Cambrian Index'
www.swansea.gov.uk/cambrian .
We normally have copies of some of the Society's databases available on
laptops at the meeting, and are able to give a limited amount of advice to
researchers.
Any enquiries, contact me off-list.
