From 10am to 4pm on Saturday 22nd May 2010 there will be a Local and
Family
History Day at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, co-ordinated by
the Swansea Branch of Glamorgan family History Society. Entry is free.
Help and advice will be available. A number of local history groups will be
represented, as well as West Glamorgan Archives, Swansea Library and two
commercial suppliers.
Glamorgan Family History Society's new CD of the burial index for
Kingsbridge Cemetery, Gorseinon from 1903 to 1958 will be on sale, as well
as other Glamorgan FHS and other publications.
There will be some second-hand local history books relevant mainly to areas
outside West Glamorgan on sale.
The Museum itself has many exhibitions of interest to local and family
historians, and there is also a cafe there. The museum is next to the LC2
Leisure Centre and to Swansea Museum, close to Swansea Marina and City
centre shops, in case you want to make it a day out with family members who
have other interests.
