Mr. Phillips has left us for work at Bowdon, Cheshire. He carries with him
our hearty good wishes for his future work and we hope his half-formed
intention of taking work in this diocese when his present engagement
terminates may bring him with reach of Knighton at some future time. He
will be greatly missed by the children in whose work and play he took so
thorough a delight and interest.
Heating Apparatus. - The tender from Messrs. Saunders & Taylor, of
Manchester, has been accepted, and the work will commence as soon as the
Christmas holiday is over.
The Rev. Phillip Austen Lushington. - Before the New Year commences we shall
have welcomed Mr. Lushington amongst us, and before these lines appear in
print he will, we are sure, have learnt how warm that welcome is. Mr.
Lushington was at School at Winchester and is an M.A. of Balliol College,
Oxford. He took his degree in 1897 and since then has for a time been a
schoolmaster and latterly has been studying at Wells Theological College.
We hoe that he will be very happy in his ministry amongst us.
