Good morning List: Below excerpts only. The reports for Knighton are
different to those for other parishes in the magazine, in that they do not
go in for name-naming and place naming. Wondered how a Radnorshire parish
had joined up with Clun Valley. Jo.
From a Parochial Magazine for 1903. KNIGHTON.
No baptisms, marriages or burials are shown in the JANUARY edition.
Reports included Church Guild; Guild Notices; Children's Guild and
Sunday School; Choral Society quoted below; Missions of the Church;
Church Army Nurse quoted below; Magazines and Notices below.
Choral Society. - The Town Choral Society, which Mr. Rogers is going to
conduct, is we understand going to make a speciality of the study of Sacred
music. We hope the Society will be enthusiastically supported by all
musical Church people. Mr. Stephen Pugh, of West Street, is the Central
Secretary, and will give all information in regard to membership. If well
supported the Society should be a great boon to the town musically, and
should also do something to mitigate the effect of our unhappy religious
divisions, and this last object should be one very near the heart of every
Churchman.
Church Army Nurse. -The recent illness of Nurse Ffoulkes compels us to
remind people that it is quite impossible for her to do night nursing in
addition to her day work, and she is strictly forbidden both by the doctors
and the Nurse Committee to sit up at nights with patients.
Magazines and Notices. - As we are for this year joining in the Clun Valley
Magazine and the space available for parish matter will be limited, the
permanent notices will be published separately and issued to subscribers,
probably quarterly, and the monthly notices placed on the Church Notice
Board.
