David
I was born and brought up in New Radnor and Ive never heard of any fell
running round there. The microfiche records for the area are in the county
office at Llandrindod archives dept.
Best Wishes
John

Thanks, John,
This is a possibility because we have more than one black hole of
information regarding this family. It is also possible that Charles
Haines (or HAYNES) wasn't born in Malvern, though the 1881 census has
him as such. Also there is no GRO reference to a Marie born anytime
around 1873 in Malvern.
Was there anything to be gained by a plumber claiming to be born in
Malvern at that time (1881)? And the same for a daughter born 1873?
As I'm sure Haynes a Welsh name is it more likely that Charles HAYNES
came from Radnor than Worcester at that time?
I had heard that the Radnor parish records are to be found at
Aberystwyth? Does anyone know if there is anywhere else that they can be
accessed?
Charles HAYNES was a fell runner who won at least one famous race. Are
there any records of such events in Radnor?
David

This may not help you but there is a former Mill near new Radnor called
Haines Mill which is named after someone who owned it. Do you think
there
could be any connection eg Anne takes her husband back to the area she
comes
from..
