Subject: Ceri, Montgomeryshire - fiche v online
Good morning on a sombre day:
Ceri, Montgomeryshire. Difference in Microfilm (?and fiche) and online
database.
Very recently a query cropped up on Powys or Radnor L lists regarding
found
entries that then disappeared - the surname may have been Corbett, I
am
too
fond of deleting messages that appear unconnected to own interests.
Today
received mail from someone interested in Clun (Shropshire) as follows, and
consider it may clarify. Unfortunately do not myself have easy access to
fiche reader.
"Another note about the IGI, which you might not have discovered, is that
some information that is available on the microfilms has not been entered
in
the IGI database. For instance, for Clun the batch numbers are
C037371 -
C037372 (for christenings) and M037371 - M037372 (for marriages). However,
there are no entries in the IGI for batch number C037372."
Have not yet gone on line to check this out.
Jo. Shropshire. FAMILY HISTORY the great stress beater.
Radnorshire interests: Roberts (Cascob)
Smout (Llanbister). Also:
Bettws-y-Crwyn (Shropshire) - various (difficulties here with
several years of baptisms missing).
