Exchange with many items posted and with whom many of you are from
her
frequent and always helpful replies to queries on the lists has indicated
she's be willing to do lookups in the following booklet:

immediately recognize this booklet as a possible resource. Margaret
responded:

benefits, life assurance and pension. I am not quite sure of the aims of
the Llanbadarn Society but it seems to have lent money for mortgages but
the
purpose of other loans weren't specified. On January 7th 1850
the
allowance
of 2/6 per week paid to David Price who was lame from a broken bone
was to
be continued. There are references to a Rule Book which would be very
interesting to get hold of. By the way the meetings were held in the New
Inn in Llanbadarn Fynydd. There was an Anniversary Meeting on May 26
1851
and it was decided that there should be no music played after 8
o'clock
and
no ale or spirituous liquors to be sold after 10 o'clock. There
is no
mention of any female names so I wonder how much fun they managed to have.
I am quite happy to do look-ups although the information available is very
basic and is usually just a name age and date. I expect everyone listed
would have been living in the!

>
> "I, Robert Lewis do declare that I am 63 years of age, & no more; &
that
I
am not liable to fits; & do not to the best of my knowledge
labour under
any
bodily or mental infirmity or disorder.
> John R. Lewis, Secy. Robert Lewis (signed)"

>
> "There is also a report of a public meeting to set up the society with
the
names of the officers and committee and AGMs in following years.
There
isn't much to be gained from the information although names of dwellings
are
given for the officers and committee elected at the initial
meeting."

19C might be fortunate enough to find your ancestor was a member of this
society.
