My g.g.grandmother, Mary WILLIAMS, was baptised in Brilley in l822, the
daughter of Joseph WILLIAMS and Mary MINTON who married there in l8l6.
In all future censuses she says she was born in Michaelchurch, Radnor.
Only in the l88l Census did she give "Brilley" for her birthplace.
Mary married Thomas PRICE (b. Glascwm ca. l820) pre-l85l. They had six
known children:
William b. l852 Titley
George b. l854 Pembridge
Charles b. l856 Pembridge (my g.grandfather)
Thomas b. l858 Pembridge
Aaron b. l860, Cascob, Radnor
Samuel b. l86l, Presteigne, Radnor
They may also have had a daughter, Margaret, b. ca. l858 Pembridge.
In l85l the family were living at The Forge in Pembridge. By l86l they
were at Combe, Presteigne and thereafter the family moved to Lyonshall
before ending up in Merthyr.
I have been given details of the marriage for Mary's brother, Joseph
WILLIAMS (b. l824 Titley). He married Rosannah YEOMANS at the Baptist
Chapel, Presteigne, on 22nd Nov. l862. Joseph was a widower but I have
not found any previous marriages.
The reason I mention this is because I have not been successful in
tracking down the marriage for Mary WILLIAMS to Thomas PRICE pre l85l.
If they had also married at the sameBaptist Chapel in Presteigne, would
these records be available for searching? The only thing I know for
sure is that they were married, but as yet childless, when the l85l
Census was taken.
Thank you
