Wendy.....I wonder if the town [Weythel] in Radnorshire is
Merthyr....actually Merthyr Tydfil.....a name that used to make my kids
laugh.....it is the town where my Dad, Chris Rawlings was born.....Hope
this might help...
I'm also trying to find where Pergam is in the Merthyr Tydfil district as my
Uncle Ivor was born there.....

Dear Lorna and Wendy,
Wendy,
Weythel is the name of an area about half a mile southwest of Dolyhir in the
parish of Old Radnor (in Radnorshire). My modern Ordnance Survey
'Pathfinder' maps (sheet 993) shows Weythel to be at grid reference
SO237575. In this area are marked: Weythel, Weythel Farm, Weythel Mill, and
Weythel Common.
Lorna,
Merthyr Tydfil is not in Radnorshire. It is at least 40 miles away, in the
county of Glamorgan.
I can find nowhere called 'Pergam' in or near Merthyr Tydfil. There is a
Pergwm Street at Trealaw in the Rhondda (GLA). There is a village called
Pengam in the Rhymney Valley on the Monmouthshire-Glamorgan border. Pengam
is in the parish of Bedwellty (MON).
Kind regards,
John
