Hi Keith,
I did an advance search on the 1881 Census and came up with these two which
seem to show that it is just a crossing on a railway. I have looked in
Jowett's Railway Atlas and it is marked on the Great Western line that
terminates at New Radnor. Dolyhir is the stop before New Radnor.
The second entry is marked "Building" rather than "Dwelling" and I
have not
come across that on the 1881 in all my searches.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey

Subject: DOLYHIR
I have an ancestor that lived in the Dolyhir area,(ROGERS), possible
at
the station as he worked on the railway. the area has changed a lot owing to
a quarry digging up most of the land, can anyone tell me if Dolyhir was a
village or just a name for the area?
Keith.
