John Price is at the head of one of my Price branches and has been causing
me problems.
Anne Lewis probable mother of John Price b. Knucklas 1810 Census (PReg.
Beguildy c. 29 Oct 1809 /Anne Price) married John Price on 19/Feb or
Mar/1803 at Llangunllo.
At NLW. the PReg. of Llangunllo does not show this marriage and NLW. did
not have a non-conformist register. The suggestion that it maybe was a
non-conformist marriage partially inspires this query.
Examining the IGI Llangunllo records I observe there are two batch/film
numbers quoted (7328901 and 7412911). The 911 series seems to be
christenings only with the relative column showing women, while the
901 series shows both marriages and christenings (the relative column lists
both parents).
I have read somewhere that sometimes only the female parent was recorded,
as both sets of records cover the same time frame, were there two
churches/chapels in Llangunllo (St Cynllo's and *?*) or is there another
explanation?
I've been stuck on this for a couple of years, so any assistance in finding
John's (1810) ancestors would be most welcome. John had moved to Old Radnor
by 1841.
Thanks
Ken Price
