Would SKS that has access to the parish records please see if you can find
these births for me.
I have found on the 1851 census that my John James was born in Glascwm
Radnorshire in about 1805.
His wife Anne James nee Davies on the 1851 census says she was born in
Llandrindod Radnorshire in about 1802.
Their first child Samuel Cooper James on the same census was born in
Llandrindod Radnorshire in about 1827.
I have been stuck on this since I first started to do my family history
(1993), until last week when I subscribed to this list and straight away had
some help from Pam and Keith, thank you to them both.

Hi Jan
I have just had a look at the Glacwm PRs transcribed by the Powys FHS (and
available as a CD from parish chest) but there is no sign of a John James
circa 1805 although this doesn't mean that he wasn't born there he may not
have been recorded by an absent minded cleric. There may be an entry for him
in the Bishops Transcripts though which is always worth a try.
Happy hunting
Angie
