Hi All,
Been snorkeling about on the London Gazette site this week looking
for Gallantry Citations for our Military men and bumped into some "odd" bits
of info.....
The following Friendly Societies were wound up on the dates shown....
14 Jan 1918
"The Ogmore Valley Sick, Accident & Funeral Fund", held at the Kings Head
Hotel.
27 Apr 1915
"The Ogmore Vale Garden Village Society", held at "Brynteg" Ogmore
Vale....Curiously I belive the registartion number is the one now on the Non
Pol Club plaque (5543 R) have to check too much of a coincidence......
And now a question....
Anyone know what "Wart Disease of Potatoes" is as an area of Nantymoel
including "Morfa`s Allotments" and "Tuckers Allotments" near to Waun
Fach
were "notified" by the Board of Agriculture & Fisheries on 07th Dec 1916.
We now have our first article "in the bag" for Journal 2003, it`s the
history of the Ogmore Vale Bakery by Dennis Burt.
