Hi All,
A tad late but just to let you all know the Book Launch we held last
Friday in the new Ogmore Vale Primary School was great success.
Over 100 turned up on the night to browse the displays and generally chat
whilst divulging of the Wine & Nibbles:-)
Many "Non-regulars" turned up which was especially pleasing, makes all the
hard work, both on the day and the rest of the year worth the effort.....
Trevor John, the Chairman gave an interesting speech on his school years and
the punishment meted out by the head teacher for carrying out research into
the differences between the toilet facilities for boys and girls in the
1940`s......
Our principal guest Mrs Janice Gregory AM for Ogmore, again graced us with
her presence and Bert "just a short speech, honest" Jones wrapped up the
speeches for the Society.
Those unable to make it this year, keep the last Friday in November free
next year and we'll see you at the 5th book launch.....
The next event in our calendar will be the unveiling and dedication of the
Miners Memorial, again taking place in the Ogmore Vale Primary School on the
14th May 2004. The numbers we can invite for this event will be strictly
limited, so anyone interested in going please let me know ASAP and we will
try and fit you, though I cannot make any promises at this stage.
Regards
