Margaret,
I haven't seen any other replies to your query. I have the 1851 Census
Index for Montgomeryshire (CD pub. by Powys FHS) and found only one KEARN
family near Newtown. Note Martha KEARN is a widow -- perhaps she was
married to George?
1851 Census, Parish of Llanllwchaiarn:
KEARN Martha h w 54 Seamstress RAD Llangunllo? Ruins /f261/p15
KEARN Caroline d u 21 Straw bonnet maker MGY Llanllwchaiarn Ruins /f261/p15
KEARN William s u 18 Moulder MGY Llanllwchaiarn Ruins /f261/p15
KEARN Catherine d u 14 At home MGY Llanllwchaiarn Ruins /f261/p15
"Ruins" appears to be an area or attached dwellings as there are about 20
separate households listed (all labouring class people) near the Canal Road.
Regards,
Julie Preston
