Dear Lists,
(This one might be of interest to Richard Mills or Margaret Harvey if either
of you are keeping an eye open for MILLS postings.)
I just came across a reference to my DAVIES family of Trefeglwys by an
earlier researcher who had interviewed an elderly lady in our family years
ago. She had stated that we are "related to John Mills of Foundry,
Llanidloes", who was also the Mayor of Llanidloes in 1902/3.
Never having been able to figure out where this connection might be, other
than the knowledge that one of our DAVIES married a Dorothy MILLS and they
emigrated to New York State in 1912 or so, I'm posting this out of
curiousity, in case anyone researching MILLS in Llanidloes might know of a
DAVIES connection. (The connection may also apply to the DAVIES of
Llandinam, who are related to mine.)
I'm not certain if the following 1881 census entry is the same John MILLS
(Sr. or Jr.) who was later the mayor of Llanidloes.
