It is Remembrance Day in Britain on Sunday and Veterans' Day in the US and
Canada on Monday. As most listers who replied seemed to think that it was a
good idea to use annual events as themes for the list. It might be
appropriate for us to use this occasion to mention our forebears who died in
a war or served in the armed forces or who were conscientious objectors to
war.
Please remember that part of the objectives of lists such as this is to share
information about relations that we know about, and not just to mention those
who we are having difficulty in finding, so even if you know all you need to
know about Great Uncle Harry who served on the Somme, please tell us about
him - who knows you may find an interesting connection.
Details of veterans of Welsh descent from other countries will be equally
welcome.
Because some members did object to anniversary themes can I suggest that all
contributions are prefixed with [War] eg:
[War] Hedd Wyn 1887 -1917
Then those who are not interested can easily ignore these messages.
Regards
Alwyn
PS to save the boring people who are subscribed to all four lists I have not
sent copies to the Caernarfon or Anglesey lists, but please feel free to
continue this thread on the most appropriate list.
