Alun,
You have managed to completely confuse me! :-) I suspect, however, that you
mean the *microfilm* which includes the BT's for the parish of Welshpool
also includes the BT's for the parish of Llanwyddelan and the other two --
not that the actual BT's are a combination of events recorded for all 4
parishes. Am I correct? This is due to the order in which the LDS filmed
the records held by the PRO and nothing to do with a relationship between
the parishes themselves. If you're after Welshpool events, look only at
those pages indicated so --- on the film, there's usually a fairly obvious
'break' between each separate BT.
Llanycil is a parish in Merionethshire. I'm stumped on "Llangchan" --
it's
not listed in "Parish Registers of Wales" -- possibly Llangian, located in
Caernarfonshire and, I suppose, pronounced "Llanchan"?
Regards,
Julie Preston

Subject: Bishop's Transcripts Welshpool
The Bishop's transcripts, 1662 - 1845
are divided into three parishes Llanwyddelan, Llangchan and Llanycil.
Saxton's map 1578 shows the church of Llanwyddelan but not the other two
parishes.
Would like help in finding the parishes of Llangchan and Llanycil are
they
in the town of
Welshpool?.
