Re the suitability of Mac Computers to handle the FreeCen software, I have
taken advice on this from the organisers and as soon as I have a positive
answer I will post it to the list. Thank you all for your advice.
This is the reply from Michael McCormick, (National Recruitment and Liason
officer with FreeCen)
I am running a G4 Mac with VPC v4. The software runs OK on that
combination. If your Mac users don't have that, then they can use SSCens,
the spreadsheet system. At the moment, that is a .exe file, so they can't
open it. What I have done is open it for them and send them the files
inside as separate items. However, it will shortly appear for download as a
zipped file without any need for the self-extraction .exe file.
They won't be able to be checkers, but you will get plenty of PC users who
will be able to.
I hope this helps you Mac users
