Hi everyone,
I have a copy of the original 1841 census entry for my ancestor Thomas Parry, Farmer age
63 years and Mary Parry aged 62 living in a dwelling next to Llindu, Llangurig. I am
unable to read the name of the farm which possibly ends -----allt. I have found Llindu as
Llyn-du on old and new maps but can't find a dwelling near by that could be the one
for the Parry family. I am also unable to read whether Thomas was born in the county or
elsewhere as it is very smudged on that part of the entry. I have looked on the 1851
Census and the next dwelling to Llyn-du is Jau-rallt but have been unable to find this on
the map, the "Jau" doesn't look like a Welsh word to me. I have also
checked the 1881 Census and there is nothing there.
I am hoping someone might have the full entry on the Montgomeryshire 1841 Census fiche for
Llangurig and can help or the dwelling on later censuses. I am also open to any
suggestions as to what the name of the dwelling could be.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey
