Mark,
There are plenty of people researching BREESE's in Montgomeryshire -- many of us are
members of the Powys FHS and the Montgomeryshire Gen'y. Society. Of the membership,
many are not online.
If he shows up in Tredegar in 1851, isn't there a birthplace listed in the census
entry? Have you obtained his marriage certificate?

Julie Preston

Hi Julie
My (infuriating!) John Breeze/Breese (my g.g. grandfather) appears in
Tredegar, Mon in 1851 (26, iron miner).
Family myth has it that he hailed from Montgomgeryshire.
I have nothing else - other than his wife was Elizabeth (b 1825 Tredegar),
who bore my g.grandfather Jonathan in 1865 (also Tredegar) and he was dead
by 1881.
I am suprised by the lack of information on the Breezes/Breeses/Brees's - it
seems to be an under-researched name(?)
Regards
Mark Breeze

parentage -- suspect he's from Llanbrynmair. By 1825, BREES(E)'s were
throughout Montgomeryshire (mainly, with a few who strayed into Radnorshire,
probably from Llangurig and Llandinam).
