Hello all
I am a new subscriber to this list having spent many a year on the
Gloucestershire one. I have just this evening discovered that we had a
Jesse James POPE and his wife Sarah move to Llanllwchaiarn at some point
prior to 1881. Could someone possibly do a lookup for me in the 1871
census to see if they were in the area at that date.
They had a daughter Emma who we always believed to have remained a
spinster BUT the 1881 census gives her status as married and her surname
as ROTTON. The question is: did she marry a ROTTON in Llanllwchaiarn?
Her daughter Annie was born there in 1876.
We know that they were living at 11 Dysart Terrace and that Emma was a
'visitor'; was her husband nearby?
Hoping that someone may be able to assist.
