Yet again a wonderful collection of photographs, it seems every time you
send a new selection I have some connection, today it is my Gr Gr
Grandfather Edwin Jones who was Station Master at Llanfyllin on the 1881 and
1891 Census. I wondered if you had a photograph of the Railway Station in
your archives?

Dear Shirley,
Thank you for your e-mail.
Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of Llanfyllin railway station. The
railway line closed to passenger traffic in January 1965. The station, a
terminus, was at the south-eastern end of the town. It may be that the
former station building no longer exists.
The Llanfyllin page on the GENUKI website mentions the following two sources
which may include photographs of the station at Llanfyllin:
1. Cozens, Lewis. "The Llanfyllin Railway". London : Lewis Cozens, [1959]
56p
2. Ganley, Colin. "The Llanfyllin Railway : the story of a border branch
line". Back Track 8 (1994), p. 129-36 "Handbook for the Town of Llanfyllin :
containing topographical and historical description of the town, &c, &c,
&c." Llanfyllin : printed at the 'Annibynwr' Office, 1863. 60p
Kind regards,
John
