Hi John,
I am presuming that what Owen is looking for is a cross check with the Newtown parish
registers which someone may have a copy of for the period which might give the parental
detail he is looking for ie; Edward and Hannah Owen.
On a note to Owen, certificate buyer beware as there are two references for a birth of
David Owen in the latter part of 1838.
David Owen J/A/S qtr. 1838 Vol 27 page 115 reg. dist. Newtown - and also
David Owen O/N/D qtr. 1838 Vol 27 page 116 reg. dist. Newtown.
Regards, Keith Roberts.

Is there someone reading this who would be willing to do a birth look-up
for me concerning one I think might be my gr. grandfather. What I am
trying to find is the parents names listed on a birth of David Owen, born in
Newtown in the third quarter of the year 1838, listed as Sep 1838. The
numerals are MGY NEWTOWN, VOL. 27, PG 115.

Dear Owen,
Unfortunately, no one can look-up these details for you. The only way to
obtain the details you require is to purchase David Owen's birth
certificate, either from the local register office in Newtown, or from the
General Register Office. You will have to do this for yourself.
To purchase from the local register office, write to:
Registrar of Births Marriages and Deaths
Room 4
Council Offices
The Park
Newtown
Powys SY16 2NZ
Tel +44 (0)1686 627862
To purchase from the General Register Office, go to:
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificate/ where you can purchase
on-line.
Kind regards,
John
