Jean,
A christening entry for 1824 (presume that's what you meant instead of
"1924") will not give the mother's maiden name. You must look for the
parents' marriage in the original parish register for the *parish church* of
Llanfyllin or in the Bishop's Transcripts for that parish and, hopefully,
there won't be too many David LLOYD's marrying Elizabeth in that parish in
the time-frame you're interested in. (Marriages were only allowed to be
solemnized in the parish church in those years.)
The LDS have microfilmed the BT's. The Powys Archives have microfilms of
the parish registers.

Julie Preston

Subject: Evan LLoyd
I wonder if SKS would look up a christening of Evan Lloyd for me. I
believe this was my g grandfather , according to the IGI he was christened
at The Tabernacle, Wesleyan Methodist, Llanfyllin on the 9th February 1924
to a David Lloyd and Elizabeth. I would like to know Elizabeth's maiden
name so that I can try and find David and Elizabeth's marriage. According
to the 1851 census David was born at Meifod about 1790 and Elizabeth at
Llangynog in 1787.
