Hi All,
Last week's New Scientist magazine had an article about using DNA to track
one's ancestry (
www.newscientist.com), 16th March 02.
The author, himself a Hamer with family ties from Llanidloes last century,
found that while there was a cluster of matching DNA in central Wales,
there was a bigger cluster in Lancashire.
The article, Back to Your Roots, is available on their archive. You can get
a free 7 day trial registration to view it (although I haven't actually
tried it, that's what it says!)
Other names discussed are Dyson, Pomeroy, Ridehalgh.
Cheers,
Malcolm
