Hello Sam
I think we've corresponded before but my details may help you eliminate some
possibilities as we have quite a few details which seem to coincide:
My Elizabeth ASHTON was also born 1823 but at Bont, Llanbrynmair (her father
being Daniel ASHTON, shoemaker, b 1797 Trefeglwys with a brother John ASHTON
b abt 1804, Trefeglwys I believe - any connection?)
Elizabeth ASHTON married Richard HUMPHREY(S), tailor, in June 1847 at
Pennant (Calvanist) Chapel, Llanbrynmair.

John - I'm Frank Ashton (known as Sam). I have an ancestor Elizabeth
Asthon,
born 1823 (Calvinistic Methodist Register Llanwnog) son of John Ashton
(Trefeglwys parish) and Elizabeth Ashton (nee Owen of Llangurig Parish).
I have reason to believe daughter Elizabeth might have married a
Humphreys.
Would you be so kind as to see if there is anything in your records to
support this?
I am happy to let you have any information about my family tree. Here is a
brief outline:
Daughter Elizabeth's brother William - my Great Ggrandfather - eventually
moved to Pontesbury Shropshire. Her other brother - Joseph - became a
tailor; I think he moved to Llandinam.
One of William's sons, William Hamlet was my grandfather and he ended up
in
Merseysidi in the 1890's, where my father Frederick was born in 1900. I
was
born in 1936, my son in 1969 and my daughter in 1972.)
I'd be interested in corresponding about any possible links.

Sam Ashton
