Hello List,
I'm new to this list, and although my primary interest lies in the BEBB
family, my great-great grandmother was Mary OWENS Bebb of Newtown, and I
have some info. on her birth family and would be happy to connect with any
other members of that line.
Mary OWENS BEBB was the daughter of Richard OWENS of Lower Bryn Farm just
north of Newtown. The only firm date I have for her is her marriage to John
BEBB on February 3, 1832 at St. mary's Church, Newtown. Her siblings, the
children of Richard OWENS, are as follows. The quotations are from my
great-aunt's genealogical notes from the 1920's; their order is as she
listed them, not necessarily birth order:
(Mary Owens)
Jack Owens -- died of rheumatic fever at Poney Farm, Radnorshire. There's an
interesting story connected with this!
Richard Owens (jr.) -- "of Poney Farm, Radnorshire"
Fanny Owens Roberts -- "New town, Wales" who had two daughters, 1) Jane who
married William Dunn "greengrocer, Liverpool, England" and was probably
living there in 1866, and 2) Martha "married and had four or five children.
Lived somewhere outside of London in 1890"
Grace Owens Smout -- "of Melbourne Australia"
Ann Owens -- "of Melbourne Australia"
girl Owens -- "minister's wife in England"
If these names or Poney Farm or Lower Bryn Farm are part of anyone's family
tree. I'd love to hear from you.
