Hello all,
I have been advised that the following indexes have been uploaded in the past few days -
there are four more sub-districts to sort out!
Newtown Registration District :
Deaths - Llanwnog sub-district
1837 - 1935
(7,962 deaths)
(Llanwnog sub-district was abolished in 1935)
Deaths - Newtown sub-district
1837 - 1950
(13,304 deaths)
Deaths - Llanidloes Lower sub-district
1837 - 1896
(4,393 deaths)
Many thanks to my team of volunteers for their work in
photocopying, transcribing and checking the above indexes; and to the staff of Newtown
Register Office for their help and assistance with the project.
These indexes can be found at:
www.northwalesbmd.org.uk
www.gpmgogleddcymru.org.uk
Many I am sure will have noticed that the local indexes do not have the ages at death.
They do have the advantage however in that, as they are arranged in sub-districts, they
can be more locally identified.
The best advice is to use both these local indexes and the national GRO indexes, some of
which is available online at
www.freebmd.org.uk
Best wishes and happy hunting,
