Gooday from Tasmania.
I am trying to trace a further branch of my family tree.. My
greatgrandmother wrote that her father was Thomas Henry Jennings Esq. of
london - late of Tynyryrythym, Montgomery, Wales. His father was a Thomas
Jennings. the welsh motto of the Jennings family as clearly as I can make
out from her writing is" If fynno dwy y fydd" Extracts from a letter from
an Aunt John Jennings, Elgin House, Llanderus? said "Your grandfather
owned 3 farms in Wales. Tynyryrythym, Pengelly and the Scart? also the
Cyder House/ He was a magistrate and when younger in the army. I think
Captain in some regiment that wore busbies.and fought at Waterloo where he
was wounded. Mrs Kinsey Your grandfathers sister (aunt Tib) had the Cyder
House and the Scart.......Thomas Henry has Tynyryrythym and your uncle
Pengelly..both are now sold."
Could you point me in the right direction to tracing some of this
information. Thomas Henry married my great great grandmother in London in
1850 and if I have the right Thomas Henry he was probablly born about 1827
to Thomas and Elizabeth.
On the Marriage cert of Thomas Henry and Selina Carruthers his father's
occupation was "Farmer" I would be more than happy to send international
postal coupons...
thanking you in anticipation
