Hi Stu,
I have had a look on the 1851 Census for Montgomeryshire and found 5 males
with the name John Lloyd around the age of 10 years. There were no John T.
Lloyds. Your request didn't give any pointer as to whether it was the town
or county of Montgomery where John was born so I looked on the 1881 Census
to see if there is a clue there. I think this is the correct entry from the
Family Search website:
Dwelling Court 4 Ho 12 Nelson St Sth
Census Place Birmingham, Warwick, England
Family History Library Film 1341713
Public Records Office Reference RG11
Piece / Folio 2981 / 41
Page Number 17
Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability
John LLOYD Head M Male 41 Mont, Montgomery, Wales Bellows Maker
(E&M)
Emma LLOYD Wife M Female 45 Evington, Hereford, England
Laundress
John Thomas LLOYD Son Male 11 Birmm, Warwick, England Scholar
Henry James LLOYD Son Male 7 Birmm, Warwick, England Scholar
Emily C. Hope LLOYD Dau Female 15 Birmm, Warwick, England
Bellows Maker
Elizabeth J. LLOYD Dau Female 13 Birmm, Warwick, England
Caroline LLOYD Dau Female 9 Birmm, Warwick, England Scholar
I think as it says Mont and Montgomery, I will give you the only entry for
the Parish of Montgomery:
LLOYD, Mary Catharine h w 41 annuitant MDX St Georges Arthur Street
/f110/p39
LLOYD, John s 11 scholar MGY Town Arthur Street /f110/p39
LLOYD, Catharine d 9 scholar MGY Town Arthur Street /f110/p39
This John would be on the 1841 Census with his parents but I don't have
access to that.
There is nothing to tie the entry in to the 1881 one unfortunately. It may
be worth looking for a marriage for John around the time and a little
earlier of the birth of his oldest child. You could access the
http://www.1837online.com for this and you would get a page and folio number
to enable you to purchase a certificate from the GRO. The difficulty is
that you don't know where they married, it could be Herefordshire,
Montgomeryshire or Warwickshire. A Birth Certificate would include the name
of his father but I can't see that you have enough information to tell you
whether you have the correct Johnh Lloyd.
I am sorry that this isn't more helpful.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey
