My grandfathers name was MOELWYN JONES named after the mountain near
blaenau
Ffestiniog .His fathers name was JOHN JONES and his mothers name was ALICE
MAUD MAY.MOELWYN was born on the12 july 1917 in the rhondda vally.Being
named after a mountain in north wales i would have thought his perants
might have come from that area any body have any idea's for finding out
were they came from.
Finding a John Jones is difficult! However Alice Maude May might be easier.
Is May her surname or a third Christian name?
If it is a Christian name you could find out what her maiden surname was by
getting a copy of Moelwyn's birth certificate. With the surname you could
find her details on the 1901 Census

Do you have any information that might help you stab at a date for a marriage
between John & Alice? For example if Moelwyn was their eldest child there is
a fair chance that they were married in 1916, the registrar in the Rhondda
may be able to find you a marriage certificate for them. The marriage
certificate would give you the bride & groom's ages and their fathers' names
and occupations, which might make it easier to find John in the 1901 census.
All the best
