I think the original request on this subject asked for the meaning on the
name.
I believe it means 'Five Lumps' from the Welsh 'Pump' pronounced
'pimp'
(five) and 'Lwmp' pronounced 'loomp' (lumps or mounds), referring to the
shape of the mountain. But I am not a native Welsh speaker, so I, too would
like an authoritative response from one of our Welsh speakers, please.
I enjoy this mailing list and see some very interesting and helpful
comments.

or better, 'Pumlumon' which is the actual name (and as you
will find it on
current maps), rendered as 'Plinlimon' by English people with difficulty
