Subject: [MER] THOMAS B OWEN Gamekeeper
My first time on the list. Ihope I give the right info. Thomas went
to
Dolgellau to work as Gamekeeper on the Nanau Estate.approx 1910-1920. His
sister Arminthy and her son, Stanley Owen went with him. When he moved to
work as Game keeper at Bolton Abbey, Yorks, for the Duke of Devonshire, his
sister and her son remained in Dolgellau, Stanley died there in 1984. Still
working for the Devonshires thomas moved to an estate near Trawsfynydd and
in the late 1940's drowned in a lae after having a heart attack. Does anyone
know the name of the estate? Would ther have been an Inquest and which paper
might a report have been in? Does anyone remember it happening? Any info
would be most welcome. Tank you, Ann Owen
