Annwyl Alwyn
If the offer is still open, here is one I would appreciate. I append the
family I am interested in as it appears in the 1881 record (from the LDS ).
Looks like they should have been in Penrhyndeudraeth in 1871.
A couple of comments. (1) Not sure why '((Wife))' appears after 'Head'!
(2) I suspect (from family records) that this is a blended family. But I
know nothing of the 'blending!' Some of the kids are simply labelled
'step'
in my records. (3) An older child, Catherine (my maternal grandmother's
mother) had already left home and was married by 1881. (4) That family
record refers to Thomas Davies (below) as 'Tom, Senghenydd'. So he must have
gone south, perhaps in the 1890s or the decade after, in search of work,
perhaps. A couple of others simply have 'America' against their names. I
think things were tough in Penrhyndeudraeth in the 1890s and early 1900s.

The Merioneth Census for 1871 has arrived at ancestry.co.uk. (It
only
includes those areas in Merioneth registration districts so excludes Tywyn,
Pennal &
Mallwyd, the moment).
If anybody wants any lookups done, I am willing to try and oblige; but if its
a lookup for John Jones and the like please give me as much info as possible
to make the search practical.
All the best
