Dear Fran
I have an interest in the Gerunt, Beddgelert family, as they may be
distantly related, but with no proof as yet.
I have found 4 children born to Griffith William and Janet his wife- 2 while
at Hafodanrheg, and later at Gerunt.
Beddgelert Baptisms
12/12/1768 William son of Griffith William Hafodanrheg, Farmer & Janet Parry
3/11/1771 Eleanor dau. of Griffith William & Janet Hafodanrheg
7/8/1774 Henry son of Griffith William & Janet, Gerunt.
6/4/1776 Janet dau. of Griffith William & Janet, Gerunt.
However in the T. Ceiri Griffith's book 'Achau ac ewyllysiau teuluoedd De
Sir Gaernarfon' ( Wills & Pedigrees of South Caernarfonshire) Griffith
Williams, Gerunt's will dated 17/5/1796, leaves half a crown each to his
children: William, Ellin, Henry, Jonnet, Jane and Ann. The residue is left
to his wife Jonnet Parry.
Jonnet Parry died intestate in 1812, and her estate was administered by her
unmarried daughter Ann Williams, William Parry, Gardd llygad y dydd, and
David Pritchard (Publican) of Beddgelert.
A Janett was baptised in Beddgelert 18/8/1745 daughter of Harry William and
Elinor, which would make her 23 when her eldest son was born, but 43 or 44
when Ann was born.
I have not yet checked for marriages or more baptisms, but believe I am
descended from Eleanor (or Ellin) b.1771, and her daughter Alice who was
married in Trawsfynydd in 1828.
Hope this is of interest.
Cofion
Ieuan Tomos
