The IGI has a transcription of 149 Baptisms which it says came from Arddlas
Calvinistic Methodist, Trawsfynydd, Merioneth, Wales.
As the records contain Baptisms for a number of the Jarrett family, it is
safe to say that the transcription has come from a Calvinistic Methodist
Chapel in the Trawsfynydd area. As Richard Jarrett and Jarrett Jarrett were
both deacons in Moriah Chapel I assume that what the IGI calls Arddlas is
probably a mistranscription of Moriah (A search of the National Archives
confirms this as the only chapel records for Trawsfynydd that match the same
dates are for Moriah).
Moriah is still in the main street in Trawsfynydd and still in use. Although
much altered it appears that the chapel has been on the same site since
1798.
All the best

Where did you see this mentioned, Arfor? I didn't recognise the name as a CM
chapel and I've checked Hanes Methodistiaeth Gorllewin Meirionnydd vols 2
and 3 and can't find it mentioned as a chapel, as a branch or as a house
where a Sunday School or services were held anywhere between Eden and
Maentwrog Isaf/Llenyrch.

Does anyone please know where Arddlas Calvinistic Methodist Chapel,
Trawsfynydd was? Has it been demolished or even changed its name on
amalgamation?
Thanks,
Arfor Jones (Criccieth)
