Thanks for the MIs! That is a mystery as to where Robert and Catherine were
buried.

I was interested to see at the start of Gwen's most recent
transcription a
reference to the writer's mother having died on St David's Day 1903.
The Gwynedd FHS publication "Memorial Inscriptions of Capel Rhosyfedwen (Yr
Hen Gapel) Llanuwchllyn" shows the following inscription for grave C04 (my
translation) -
In memory of LOWRY, daughter of MEREDITH and JANE EVANS, Ty'n y Bryn, Cynlas,
Llandderfel parish, who died October 15, 1847, age 3 weeks.
Also in memory of CATHERINE, their daughter, who died April 4, 1848, age 2
years.
Also in memory of the above MEREDITH EVANS, who died June 19th, 1851, age 43.
Also in memory of EVAN EVANS, their son, who died January 20th, 1869, age 20.
Also in memory of JANE DANIEL, daughter of Trawscoed, and widow of MEREDITH
EVANS. She married for the second time ROBERT DANIEL, previously of Murglas.
She died on St David's Day, 1903, age 86.
Hafina's extract from the 1982 Cyfnod article referred to JANE DANIEL having
died in 1901 (though the article also noted the obituary in Y Seren in March
1903).
I've looked through the Gwynedd FHS MI publications for the area, but have
been unable to find any reference to Cwmtylo, or indeed to the Trawscoed
couple ROBERT & CATHERINE ROBERTS (died 1851-61 & 1841-51 respectively) as
noted by Gwen in her e-mail of 7 December 2005 : I would have thought that
Robert & Catherine would have had a gravestone. Maybe they were buried in
Llanuwchllyn or Llanycil churchyards, though with several nonconformist
cemeteries in the area this seems unlikely.
