Hello Angharad,
I think there has been a little misunderstanding. The JE I was referring
to was the John EDWARDS I have been searching for who married a Margaret
JONES. If you scroll right down this email you will see that I was not referring
to your ancestor.
Sorry to have caused any confusion.

Hello Judith
I think you must have the wrong J E Jones, if you are referring to Doreen's
earlier message saying she was dedicating the transcriptions to my father.
My father was born in Melin-y-Wig [Gwyddelwern parish] in 1905 !!

Thank you very much again, Doreen and John
This one certainly is a possibility. JE married a Margaret JONES so I
won't
be surprised to see him in a JONES family, although there are so many
JONES
families that there would always be a chance of that I suppose. Seeing
him
on his own is a problem in that I can never be sure whether or not he is
'my'
JE ! If only I could find something to latch him on to I might be able
to
get somewhere.
Another thing has cropped up in the last half an hour or so. Someone
else
has had a look at the 1881 to see if they could make out the name of the
place
where JE was born. Other people had convinced me that it was
Llanuwchllyn,
and it still may be so, but this other person thinks there could be a
possibility that the word is Llanfachreth as there seems to be a clear
letter r near
the end.
Now I feel I have to look in that direction too but I hardly like to
impose
on you yet again so I will send a query to the list.
Thanks for all you have done,
Judith

Hi Judith
Actually the Merioneth census records are quite complete other than about
40% of the 1861 Llandrillo and a small area of the 1861 Cynwyd Fechan, I
think.
Here is the only one I could find in the 1861. Not much help I'm afraid
as
he is not with his family.
