Hi Doreen & John,
Brilliant! What a marvellous gift to our community!
Thank you very much for all the help you have given me - so freely offered.
Many thanks also to Gareth Hicks, for putting it all together so clearly
on the GENUKI's Merionethshire pages:

Hi List
After many weeks of work, we have finally finished transcribing
Llanycil, Llanuwchllyn and Llangower for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1891
and 1901. Bala which is separated from Llanycil in 1901 is also
completed. This adds about 25,000 entries to our data base.
At a later date, we will probably ask Gareth if he would be willing to
help us out, once again, to put some of the years up on the Genuki
website.
We would like to dedicate these transcriptions to my cousin Angharadís
father J. E. Jones a founder of Plaid Cymru and pioneer in Welsh
television. (Angharad also contributes to this list). We will be
sending copies of the transcriptions to Angharad.
We now have Meirionnydd complete from Llanuwchllyn to the eastern tip
at Pandyír Capel, (Gwyddelwern Parish). The last farm in Meirionydd ,
abutting Llanelidan, was Ty Brith, inhabited by the Lloyds, one of
which is a Blacksmith in Bala, on some of the years completed. The
Lloydís are among the ancestors of Hafina Clwyd who has contributed so
much to this list. Also, Carole, in Georgia, U.S.A. is also a
descendant.
We havenít double checked our transcriptions back to the originals,
but we are confident that ours are more accurate than the governmentís
1901 index. We found a few of the townships a real challenge, and the
1901 Bala was very difficult, mostly because of the poor quality of
the fiche (lousy quality control by the P.R.O). So, there are likely
to be a higher percentage of errors in that one.
Llangower is a very small parish (about 65 households). With so many
people in other parishes claiming to be from Llangower, many of the 65
households must have been ëbreeding farmsî.
We didnít think that we would be finished by the first of March, but
we did. So, a HAPPY ST. DAVIDíS DAY to you all.
