I am interested to know if anyone with an interest in Llanuwchllyn / Penllyn can expound
on the below will of Eleanor Jones of Pandy Mawr, Llanuwchllyn d1850 and buried in Y Hen
Gapel. The nephew John Thomas is my gt gt gt grandfather. His father was also John
Thomas - presumably the brother of Eleanor mentioned in the will?
brother John Thomas
nephews and nieces Thomas Thomas, Ann Thomas, William Thomas all children of brother John
sister Anne
children of sister Anne: Griffith, Ellen, Catherine, Mary & Elisabeth
"nephew John Thomas who lives with me"
witnessed: John Jones draper, Llanuwchllyn and Robert Jones, cooper
John Thomas Sr was an engineer(?)
Other names associated with Pandy Mawr are John Jones (admon 1804 mentions wife Jane and
son John), Rowland Jones (also of Tythyn Llowarch will 1793 possible Roli Penllyn or Roli
Penrhiwdwrch, a local bard) and Elinor Jones d1826.
I am at an exciting point of finding out little snippets that add up but would appreciate
any further help anyone can give!
Yours,
Ian
