Subject: [MER] William WILLIAMS / Mary Ann JONES
Hi
I am a new subscriber, and live in Brisbane, Australia. We emigrated from
the UK 28 years ago, but I have Welsh relatives on my mother's side.
I am researching my ggrandfather William WILLIAMS. who was born in/near
Pwllheli in about 1836. He married Mary Ann JONES (b Aberystwyth abt 1837)
in about 1865, and they lived in Llanaber, Barmouth. William was a
joiner, and census returns for 1871/1881 suggest that he found work in
Liverpool. They had 5 children, Elizabeth, Mary Ellen, Owen Thomas,
Winifred, and William Jones. Mary Ann died in Dec 1879 - it seems after
giving birth to William.
William later moved to Liverpool, and is listed in the 1901 census as
living with his daughter Mary Ellen, and her husband Thomas EDWARDS, in
Fowler St, Everton, Liverpool.
Any new information would be much appreciated
Regards
Paul
