CONTEXT
Administrative/Biographical history: No biographical information was

Merionethshire at time of compilation of description.
CONTENT
Scope and content/abstract: Thirteen diaries, 1898, 1912-1919,
1922-1923, 1927 and 1930 and 11 pocket note books.
Although the entries in the diaries are sparse, a surprising amount of
information can be gathered from them. There are details of chapel
meetings, local events, the weather, planting of vegetables, books
borrowed. The effect of the First World War comes to light as Evan T.
Davies refers to Llywelyn (possibly his son) returning home from Ypres.
The note books are difficult to decipher and contain lists of books,
lines of poetry, names and address and rough notes in general, written
in Welsh, English and French.

Trevor
