If there's any chance they were married in Scotland, I've found the Scottish
records in Edinburgh are the easiest British records to research. Computer searches for a
marriage tell you which microfiche or microfilm to look at. Very old marriage records have
the names of the parents and usually the year of their marriages. So, if you haven't
already (but likely have), you might do more work through the husband's records.

Yes, LDS is wrong. The BC Archives does show the correct spelling. They are also shown for
the last time on the 1898 Census. No, I do not know where in Wales. I only know from the
census information that Elizabeth was born in Wales. James Sr. in Scotland. The three
children in England. I have lost them after 1898. I know that Beatrice the daughter of
Edith Adelaide Isabella married Peter Summerfield went to Oakland, Ca. because that is
where my Grandmother Edith Irene Harrington was born and was married to William Garrison
Harrington then later married Hugh Whitney. Ernest was a real estate agent and then farmer
and married to Annie?? and James was a dentist and married to Alice Titmus. James Sr. was
a teacher and taught at Victoria School for Boys.
Thanks for looking Ian.
