Llanfor is a village (and parish) about a mile north east of Bala, the
nearest town. I'm not aware of other villages of the same name.

that is
the former name of the county. Since about 1975 or 6 (I think) it has
been
the county of Gwynedd, which was actually one of the 'old'
regions of
Wales.
I think (but am unable to prove, so far) that one of my great great
grandfathers was living there at the time of his marriage (John Owen to
Mary
Jones.)
